Keyboard shortcuts

On macOS, read Ctrl as ⌘ Cmd and Alt as ⌥ Option. Shortcuts are ignored while you are typing in a field.

Keys What it does
Space Open Quick Look on the selected row — press again to close it
↑ / ↓ Select the previous / next row
Shift + ↑ / ↓ Extend the selection
Click Select a row
Ctrl + click Add a row to the selection, or take it out
Shift + click Select everything between the last row you clicked and this one
Ctrl + A Select every row
Alt + ← / → Back / forward through the folders you have visited
Mouse back / forward buttons Back / forward, as in a web browser
Double-click the empty list Choose a folder
Right-click a row Everything you can do to it — rename, delete, download, split, open in DJV…
Right-click a folder in the path Show it in Explorer / Finder, copy its path, or add it to your favourites
Enter in the filter box Filter now, without waiting for you to stop typing
Esc Close an open menu

Opening folders. A single click opens a folder. If you build shots from several folders at once, turn on Preferences ▸ Double-click to open folders (full version): a single click then selects a folder instead of entering it, so you can select several and build them together.

Once Quick Look is open, Space belongs to the player.

Keys What it does
Space or K Play / pause. On a still, Space closes Quick Look
← / → Step back / forward one frame — or one page of a PDF or Illustrator file
Shift + ← / → Step ten frames
↑ / ↓ Show the previous / next row from the panel
M Mute / unmute
L Loop on / off
Esc Close Quick Look

In the time field: type a timecode, frame number or page and press Enter to go there. ↑ / ↓ nudge it by one, Shift + ↑ / ↓ by ten, and Esc abandons the edit without closing Quick Look.
